California State University (Northridge) is hosting a short course on "Far-Field, Near-Field, Compact Ranges, and Anechoic Chambers" from June 7-11, 1993 in Northridge, CA. Quoting from the brochure... "The course is an intensive study of the measurement of microwave antenna characteristics... The course includes tours of the extensive measurement facilities of Hughes Aircraft Company and Lockheed Advanced Development ----------------------------- Company where participants will see state-of-the-art antenna ranges of the ------- type covered in the course. "Citizens of countries designated by the State Department may not attend the tours." Doesn't sound too bad for $1,095 :-) I wish I was going..... - -- Dave Michelson University of British Columbia davem@ee.ubc.ca Antenna Laboratory ------------------------------ From: davem@ee.ubc.ca (Dave Michelson) Date: Fri, 21 May 93 3:37:09 PDT Subject: Re: Tour of Skunk-Works Antenna Lab A skunker replied: > >California State University (Northridge) is hosting a short course > > HEY!! The brochure gives a course outline and description of the instructors. It also says to call (818) 885-2146 for more information. Shirley Lang of the Center for Research & Services @ CSUN is handling registration and such. It *would* be nice if they would let a few people tag along on the tours, wouldn't it? :-) - -- Dave Michelson University of British Columbia davem@ee.ubc.ca Antenna Laboratory ------------------------------ From: davem@ee.ubc.ca (Dave Michelson) Date: Fri, 21 May 93 1:22:42 PDT Subject: Tour of Skunk-Works Antenna Lab Just for interest..... Is there any assumed mission for the vehicle represented by the model, such as transport, recon, strike, etc.? I realize this is research only, not a vehicle development effort, but differing missions may require differing configurations, and I'm wondering if that had any influence on the model variants selected for testing.
