I thought so too...I seem to remember seeing a few photos of Desert Storm nose (well, "bomb bay") art on the F-117As...art on a white painted hinged door with the serrated edges. Unfortunately, I don't have these photos on hand right now, so I'm taking a shot in the dark...but I'm fairly sure they weren't sliding bomb doors. ------------------------------ From: dnadams@nyx.cs.du.edu (Dean Adams) Date: Wed, 13 Oct 93 00:02:35 MDT Subject: Re: F-117A >> In the August issue of American Legion magazine they have a picture >> of the F-117 being loaded with two bombs. The 117 has dual, hinged bomb bay doors that open downward not unlike on many other aircraft. The main difference of course is the RAM coating on the outside, and some "sawtooth" features on the door edges. Perhaps this photo was simple from a strange camera angle, or maybe the doors had been removed for some reason? - -dean ------------------------------ End of Skunk Works Digest V4 #35 ******************************** To subscribe to skunk-works-digest, send the command: subscribe skunk-works-digest in the body of a message to "listserv@harbor.ecn.purdue.edu".
