The aircraft looks like a scaled down b-2 bomber. Included is a drawing of the aircraft. Also, the Air Force has chosen "Spirit" as the name of the B-2 bomber. Bkellogg@delphi.com ------------------------------ From: Mary Shafer Date: Sat, 19 Mar 1994 19:14:13 -0500 (EST) Subject: Up on the roof Yesterday afternoon we had two flyovers of the F-18 HARV (High Alpha Research Vehicle) and safety chase, another F-18. This was in honor of some milestone--maybe 10,000 F-18 sorties? The first one was kind of so-so (because the were doing the low pass for the people up at the radar site, who _never_ get flyovers) but the second was wooonderful--he came at us straight-on at about 50 ft above the ground, with chase tucked up on his port side, at about 300 knots. They went into afterburner about 100 yards out and eased back on the sticks so they came over the roof at about 50 feet above us (about 80 feet AGL), right over our heads. Four afterburners blazing, noise, speed, sound that you could feel--I loved it. We all loved it. It was awesome. What a rush. You should have been here. Burner, burner, burner!
