A friend believes that his windows were rattled the other day when the shuttle overflew on its way to a KSC touchdown. We live in the Dallas area. Does the shuttle drag a shock wave behind it? I remember hearing that the USGS can track the shuttle when it crosses the coast on its way to Edwards. Do you need to be pretty much directly under the flight path, does altitude play into the equation at all, what are the other factors involved. E-mail me with answers so we don't clog up the net with unnecessary verbage. Also, if this is true wouldn't this be a problem for the Aurora aircraft? It would seem that they would only be able to overfly sparsely populated areas for fear of rattling windows. Or maybe they have?
