What I'm interested in is when is this act applied? What kinds of things does it apply to? Does it apply to rumors even? What kinds of due process do the accused enjoy, if any. Is it one of those things that is not always enforced - say in peace time maybe. I have no idea, so any factual information is helpful. What I'm interested in is when is this act It's called "The Official Secrets Act", but I can't give you any details about it ;-) ------------------------------ From: larry@ichips.intel.com Date: Mon, 23 May 1994 17:52:05 -0700 Subject: Re: British Secrets Act info wanted Thanks to several of you out there who informed me that the Official Secrets Act cannot even be discussed. Sorry - didn't know. I guess I'm puzzled. Is it true maybe then that some British Citizens seem to ignore it - citizens that would probably have signed it? For example the Machrihanish incident at the end of 1991, where an RAF air traffic controller "was startled to see a radar blip emerge from the area of the joint NATO-RAF station at Machrihanish at approximately three times the speed of sound". Does this mean that the incident really probably didn't happen - do you think?
