There are more companies to order from than I can remember so I'll just list the ones I know the most about. I usually order from mailorder places like Zenith Books, Historic Aviation or Aerofax,Inc and others. I'm a Zenith Book customer from way back and tend to recommend them as the place to try first unless you want to buy a book from Aerofax (see below). You can call Zenith Books at 1-800-826-6600 and ask for a free catalog. Another mailorder company is Historic Aviation. Their phone number is 1-800-225-5575. If you already know the title of the book you want, you can give them the book's name and author's name if you happen to know it. If you see any magazines like Wings, Airpower, Air Combat, etc at your local magazine sellers, usually all them have ads by Zenith Books, and others. The only one probably not listed is Aerofax, Inc. Their phone number is 1-817-261-1905. See the last paragraph for info about Aerofax. Some books written by Jay Miller can be purchased from Zenith Books and Historic Aviation and probably other stores. All of them gladly accept most credit cards. Some ship by UPS, others by 4th class US mail. If you want your order sent some other (pre- sumably faster) way, be sure to tell them when you order something. All of the above companies want you to be 100% satisfied so if you have a problem with an order or (in my case) the book you ordered just doesn't measure up to what you expected, you can return the book for a refund. I think all of the above companies have 14 day return policy. I am not employed by any of the above mentioned companies nor do I receive any kind of compensation from them. I'm just presenting some info for a question that pops up now and then. New info: Aerofax no longer has an 800 number. They have closed their store and are in the process of closing their store. Their recorded message says they are in the process of selling their publishing company. I do not know what will become of Aerofax Inc. Jay has produced many high quality aviation books. I hope he is able to con- tinue this effort. Perhaps his books will be published by another company, and he will be able to spend more of his time writing books and let the publisher handle the details of publishing his books. If I get any new info I'll pass it on. - ---- MidWest BBS - 708-513-1034 -ILINK Charter Member, UsMail Regional Hub, Usenet ------------------------------ From: Ray.W.Maynard@cdc.com Date: Sun, 9 Apr 95 01:34:56 -0500 Subject: Supersonic B-2 I've seen several references to the "supersonic B-2" in this thread lately. I'm somewhat familiar with that aircraft and I've never heard any claims that it is supersonic. ------------------------------ End of Skunk Works Digest V5 #236 ********************************* To subscribe to skunk-works-digest, send the command: subscribe skunk-works-digest in the body of a message to "majordomo@mail.orst.edu".
