They have closed their store and are in the process of closing their store. Their recorded message says they are in the process of selling their publishing company. I do not know what will become of Aerofax Inc. Jay has produced many high quality aviation books. I hope he is able to con- tinue this effort. Perhaps his books will be published by another company, and he will be able to spend more of his time writing books and let the publisher handle the details of publishing his books. If I get any new info I'll pass it on.< I do not have their latest catalogue here right now but I believe I am correct in saying that within it Midland Counties Press (British company, well known to UK aviation types) state that they have purchased the rights to the Aerofax name and they are about to release some new titles. Some guy, affiliated with one of the museums that got and SR, wrote to Dave Lux, the SR-71 project manager, and begged a copy of the Dash-1. He then turned around and had it xeroxed and sold it. There's no way on God's green earth that mass copying could have cost anything like a hundred dollars, even if you marked it up 100 percent, which is normal for retail. I loaned my copy to someone who took it to Kinkos and got it copied for only about 55 dollars and that was just one copy. Anyway, this whole incident is why no one else will ever get publications from us, as we were really embarassed by it. The Air Force got really huffy, too. It just smacked too much of taking advantage for personal gain. Anyway, yes, I've got it and it's very informative. The Researchers' Handbooks are much better but the weasel didn't manage to get them and they're not in the public domain (Lockheed wrote them). Besides, they're in color so copying wouldn't have been so cheap. (Before you ask, no, I won't. Sorry.)
