Here is a brief summary of what it contained: Item 1- An assortment of in-flight footage showing the aircraft used for study, including some great shots of the Blackbird flying with the F-16XL. Also seen is the Ames YO-3A and an F-18 chase. Item 2- Ed Haering describing the purpose of the sonic boom test program. Item 3- Dave Lux explaining the aircraft and methods used to collect the sonic boom data. Item 4- Rogers Smith explaining what causes sonic booms, while the ground crew does post-flight work on the SR-71 (844) in the background. A good presentation all around, but alas... no appearances from a certain illustrious Chief Engineer. ------------------------------ From: Dave Garbrick Date: Wed, 26 Apr 1995 12:37:41 MDT Subject: Re: NASA SR-71 Dean, Is the NASA video released to the public? I would be interested in getting a copy of it if not too costly. I know this is off the topic of skunk-works but this is one of the few groups that would even read aviation week. Does anyone know if a person can search for a particular issue/article of aviation week? One of the databases on the Dialog system (#624) includes AvWeek. The catalog price is $1.00 per minute connect time and $1.00 per article viewed. - --dave ------------------------------ End of Skunk Works Digest V5 #252 ********************************* To subscribe to skunk-works-digest, send the command: subscribe skunk-works-digest in the body of a message to "majordomo@mail.orst.edu".
