Poirier" Subject: USAF acknowledging Groom Lake ? Can this be correct? An OFFICIAL USAF site acknowledging Groom Lake? Starting with the 24 JUL 1955 entry at HTTP://132.56.128.111/AIRCRAFT/u2tl1950.htm and several more dates afterwards. Now this is not a new revelation of information, and we know its origin, but I thought the USAF had a policy of "neither confirm or deny" answers. This seems to deviate from the official line. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Aug 1997 11:14:49 From: David Subject: Re: USAF acknowledging Groom Lake ? >Can this be correct? This seems to deviate from the official line. For quite some time now..don't have to the fax to hand, but I would guess maybe two years ? The Pentagon's line (from memory, so this is not a verbatim quote) has been that near the Groom Lake area there is a classified test site which has no official name as it is within the NTS. Sadly the Conspiracy and UFO buffs often hang onto the outright denial thing, which tends to keep the fantasy alive. ------------------------------ End of skunk-works-digest V6 #71 ******************************** To subscribe to skunk-works-digest, send the command: subscribe in the body of a message to "skunk-works-digest-request@netwrx1.com".
